I'm officially a SAHM!!!
I'm officially a SAHM until September 2012!!!
I'm a NYC guidance counselor, and one of the few perks the city offers is that you can take up to 4 years off (unpaid) and still come back to a job. DH and I figured out that we can live on his salary a little while longer, so I went into my school to fill out some paperwork today. Things will be tight, but it's totally worth it IMO.
I never thought I'd want to take the extra time off; I always figured I'd have my work bag packed and ready to go once my maternity leave was over. Just goes to show that you don't know how you'll feel about a situation until you're in it. Everything is on it's way to the Dept of Education as we speak.

 My old boss (who would rather stick knives in her eyes than stay home with her kids) came to visit and said, "so tell me what your days like...what do you do?" I wanted to tell her I sit around and eat bon-bons! Meanwhile, I can't even find the time to workout!
