AC Wall Unit
We are considering doing this for the summer.
There is no slot there yet, it would have to be done.
What's the best way to go about this?
I know Sears, PC Richards and others do this. Any idea how much it costs? It would be going through vinyl siding.

We bought our units with PC richards. They did the installation. They cut the hole for us and finished it.
It was subcontracted out.

How does this affect wintertime? Does the cold air get in and make your house colder?

I just gave a $400 GE wall unit AC away - It was 10000 btu too - I bought it at Jays in Levittown 3 years ago. HAve you tried there? They will do the install too

I haven't looked anywhere really yet. I need to get this going soon. The window unit is not cutting it and it's too loud and right by the bed.

$250 or $300 but that was about 5 years ago and we got a discount because we knew someone.

They have a sale that ends today I believe. After rebate the cost of the installation with vinyl siding is $59.
ETA - PC Richards that is.

There is an outside cover you can put on it. I also put that window shrinkwrap stuff on the inside and a cover over the shrinkwrap.

PC Richards has a special going on that ends today...
Buy an AC unit and they'll do the installation for $59 (after rebates). Intially we were hiring a private contractor and they wanted $350/unit
We bought a 25,000 btu and 6,000 btu fredrich, plus installation for 1000.00

We had PC Richard do it 2 years ago. It was about $700 for 25,000 BTU, cutting the hole and installation.
