Who Can I Contact, If Anyone?
We rent... Our landlord owned both our house, and the house next door to us when we moved in. Her Mother lived there. Since then, her Mother got sick, and is now living in a nursing home. Our landlord decided to sell the house and property next door... not where we are. She sold it cheap, the sale went quick. They came and knocked down the house. Left some grass and a HUGE hole in the ground. The last time I saw anyone on the property, which was right before all the snow we got, they told us they would start construction in Feb.
Come Jan., a knock on my door from some guy from the town, just letting me know he's going to be zoning my property. Ok no big deal. He tells me that since the 2 properties were 'mothered' together, the fence that was separating our 2 houses was actually NOT on the property line. OK, fine again. They will be taking about 7 feet from that one side. No biggie since we rent.
Now, spring is here, and the grass next door is getting super long... my Landlords mother took great care of it. I don't want to end up having it get super long by summer, and attract bugs and such. We could prolly get a lawn mower over there, but why should we? KWIM?
Is there someone I can call just to see what's going on with it all? I really just want them to put up a new fence and then do whatever they want LOL. The fence we have now is just a chain link. I spoke the one of the owners of the property while they were tearing down the house and he said he was going to be building a new retaining wall and PVC fence... but just WHEN?? He said Feb., and now it's almost May.....
