Housewarming gift?
Good friends of ours just purchased a home, and we definitely want to get them a gift. They're going to be starting major renovations right away, and not moving in til it's done. My question is, is a housewarming gift given now, or when they move in? If now, we'd probably get them a home depot gift card or something. If I wait til they move in, I'd get them something more personal/decorative. Maybe GC now, personal item later?

Get them a Home Depot, Lowes or BBB card. I remember when we first moved - those were GREATLY appreciated.

I would definitely get them a HD or BBB gift card... when you move in you can never have enough of them!!! I would give it to them now... why wait?!!!

If you want to do something after the renovations a homegoods gift card is nice also, but you cant go wrong with a home depot one also...
