FYI - LIRR tonight
Due to a track condition in one of Amtrak's East River tunnels, LIRR is anticipating significant delays during the PM Rush. Customers are advised to take one of the Passover extra trains, which is scheduled to run until 3:48 PM, if possible.

doubt it, the issue is in an East River Tunnel. The email only mentions westbound suspension from Penn to Jamaica

I actually never received my email alert regarding this. I have alerts set for 3 lines including city zone!  If it wasn't for someone I work with that heard it on the radio, I would have never known until I got to Penn.

I got to Penn to get a 7:08 train and I was lucky to get on the 6:36 which didnt leave until 7:15 and it was very local! So annoying!

It was a mess there on Monday at about 5-5:30 pm. It was literally wall to wall people and they were canceling trains. My BIL and SIL got to Penn about 20 minutes after me (I was lucky enough to get on a train that was only running 20 minutes behind) and they told me they were evacuating parts of the station due to overcrowding and they got stuck outside for a while.
