pros and cons of moving
So DH and I have been talking about moving on and off for the last 5 or so years. We have never followed through with the move or even looking for a place to live or jobs in the other state. Well we started to talk about it again and started to make a list of the pros and cons. Well the cons list is much longer, but some of the things we list on the cons are silly. Here is some example; we won’t be near almost our whole family, however one of us does have siblings in the state, we are looking to move to. We would also try to move into the same town they are. We will be moving away from both our parents, even though it’s only a 1 hour flight away. But our pros are DH could get a job down there with NO problem at all with almost the same exact salary. The cost of living is much less and I could possibly be a SAHM or a PTWM. But I am still so torn.
If you had a similar situation, how did you decide to stay or go?

Re: pros and cons of moving
Well, I don't think that the specific con you mentioned is silly. It's important. Some people need to be close to their mom, dad, sister, cousins etc.
This is not the case for us, and we moved OOS, but it is different. Now, by BFF moved around the corner, my mom is moving down in Oct and I suspect my inlaws will move down within a few years.
However, this was all pure luck. We were okay with being away from everyone but some people are not cut our for that.
For us, the focus was on our little family unit and what was most important to us-that made everything else worthwhile.
