New Here - Kitchen Help!
DH and I are in the process of closing on our first place. A 2 bed 2 bath coop. We are planning on doing some work to the kitchen, painting, and redoing the bathrooms so I am going to have SO many questions.
My first is what color granite and backsplash would you do for this kitchen. We are not going to change the appliances or cabinets as they are very new and we don't want the extra expense. We plan to do granite with an undermount sink, a nice tile backsplash, and painting the kitchen. Here are a few photos off MLS website.
Thank you so much and I am so happy to finally be on this board!!

Re: New Here
Hi. Welcome to the site. We have the same color cabinets. We used an Uba Tuba granite, slate back splash from Home Depot and black stain on the molding.
I'm having a little trouble with the attached picture. Send your email address by forum mail and I will attach some more pictures. Image Attachment(s):

I would NOT do uba tuba
I have it in my other house and as beautiful as it is, it's a pain because you see every watermark or anything on it..
also, being that you intend on keeping the white appliances, IMO, it'll make them stick out too much..
I would go with beige or gold colored granite that has other colored specks in it.. I think it'll go with the cabinets and when you do decide to change the appliances, it'll go Beautifully

Re: New Here
Thanks. We're only considering changing the counters because the contractor who we are using to do other work gave us a REALLY great price. I figured when it comes time to sell people might like the granite rather then the laminent. Plus I always wanted a underhung sink....so much easier with clean up.
