Easter baskets..up until what age?
we are doing a big easter egg hunt. a bunch of kids. my 18mo, an almost 3 yr, a 7 yr old, an almost 8 yr old, a 10yr old an 11 year old, and a 13 yr old.
I was planning to get these two for my son and for my youngest niece
(they are on sale at PBK fyi)
but dh thought the 7 (boy) and 8 (girl) year olds would like them too. I was thinking they would be too old...at least for this basket.
what do you think? do you think they should ALL get baskets? I don't want anyone to feel left out that day. but I don't want to get them something they'll think is "lame" or for babies either.

We still do baskets for my 11 year old and 14 year old step sons, but choose age appropiate fillers and baskets.

I only got an Easter basket from the Easter bunny when I was a kid (mom and dad, although she never admitted it, even when I was in my 20s ).
From aunts and uncles, we got chocolate bunnies, stuffed animals or some other sort of candy, but not baskets. That is the tradition our family has continued. I used to get my nieces and nephews candy if I was going to see them on Easter, but not a basket. I only give a basket to my own DS.

oh ok. well they are sleeping over my house and will wake up there on Easter....does that count?
or, are you saying their parents can get them a basket? that would be great. except they don't all have the same parents so they may not match. my OCD might flare up.

I would baskets for all the kids but for the older ones I would get plain baskets and dress them up with ribbons or get cute liners. They sell adorable baskets in $.99 stores.

Hmm, if they were all sleeping over, I think I change my answer. If they were staying at my house, I probably would get them all baskets from the Easter bunny. 
So back to the original question, I do think the first baskets are a little babyish for the older ones. I do like the buckets.

What I always do is make an easter basket out of a beach bucket/pail. That way it is practical and they start out the summer with new beach toys. That may work for the older kids.

I would definitely do baskets for all the kids, but i would gear the older kids' baskets for them..
I have two different ideas...with older kids, I think it's what is IN the basket more than what the basket looks like...so you can probably get away with a basic basket from Michaels or something.
The other thought is making a non-traditional "basket"...i.e. get a makeup case and fill with the easter goodies...then she has the makeup case to use afterwards (assuming one is a girl)...

I'm trying to remember where I saw metal pails. I think at The Christmas Tree shop. I know Michael's sells pastel buckets, but they are the sand bucket type. Only a buck though, and they do look cute personalized.

i agree with PP you are never told old for one  I got an easter basket last year and I am 28... However i did tell my mom she didnt have to make me one this year since i have DD now and she can just make her one

i would do baskets for everyone.....the dollar tree had a lot of cute baskets and the cellophane wrappers for it. then for $1 a pop it doesn't seem so bad to make that many baskets! LOL

I'm 30 and DH is 33 and is mom still makes them for us - he's gotten them EVERY year
She even made one for DD last year who was 2 months and slept through Easter and obviously could not eat the candy... so we did, lol.

My mom still did easter baskets for all of us up until about 2 years ago and I am 32
Now she still gets us chocolate bunnies.
I think it will def be special if you get the kids baskets, no matter what age.
