carpenter ants~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ewwww i just killed 12 ants in my daugters room!! we just had wood floors put in upstairs in september, and never had this trouble until now. they are only upstairs!! any one know a good reasonable exterminator in suffolk?? i put the traps out. anything else i can do? HELP!!!!!

There's also a spray that you can use (inside and out). You can get it at Home Depot or Lowes, but Costco also has it to for a few bucks cheaper.

My dad owns an exterminating company. He is based in Nassau but goes almost as east as the hamptons.

Do you have a tree nearby? We had carpenr ants in our kitchen all the time. We figured it might be from the tre near our sidr door, we ha it taken down and there was a huge nest in there. Havent had any since

I've used suburnab exterminators for the last 2 years. They can live in a wood pile or tree near your home. If there's a tree branch, or even a power line connecting, by her room to the house, they could be coming across from there. Take a look outside the house.

I know this will sound silly but I had an ant problem a few weeks ago. We have lived in our house for almost 8 years and never had a problem before. I have two young children and a dog so a did a little research as to natural methods to repel ants. I was able to trace the point they were entering the house to around our sliding glass doors to the backyard. I read on the internet that ants are repelled by the smell of cinnamon. I tried putting a thumb print of cinnamon on the hole and believe it or not, it actually worked. Not a single ant has entered the house since! Just my experience, but hope it helps.


I should add, I had the tiny ants in my house, not the carpenter ants, but the article I read did not distinguish between the two.

We just contracted Suburban 2 weeks ago & already have seen a big difference after 1 treatment

I used traps and it seemed to work. I looked into natural methods like cayenne pepper...did crap I watched them walk right over it. I have no idea where they were coming from because they were on the 2nd floor.

We used Regal Exterminating. They came the same day I called and they have a 30 day warantee. We also had carpenter ants. I think it cost $150.
