Professional Quote Question
When you get a quote to redo a bathroom, is that the MOST it will cost or just an average of what it might cost. My DH thinks that it will not be more than the quote no matter what other issues arise, and I think it could cost a lot more than the quote.

you should always expect to go over by ATLEAST 10% many will say 20%. there are always extras, things that happen along the way, something you decide to add, something you spend more on than you were planning to and always atleast one problem!

Ditto. A quote is just an estimate. May be lower, may be higher (not often lower, though....) Sometimes the homeowner increases the cost (we upgraded the tile in our bathroom from what was quoted), sometimes the house increases the cost (rotted wood), sometimes the contractor increases the cost (cost of materials increased because of Japan's tsunami).
