Show me BLUE & WHITE accessories. UPDATED with TONS of PICS

My master bedroom design is evolving-- and after changing some pillows around, and working with a paint color I don't love (already re-painted once)- I want to play up a blue & white theme.

Looking for chatchy type stuff for the dresser and end tables... Maybe something small for the walls, but we do already have artwork.

So, since my MIL is here watching DD, I was able to play a little more and actually clean up my bedroom a bit! I hate posting works in progress since I am a perfectionist, but I really need help tying everything together.

ANyway, here are some pics of my bedroom with some new things to help tie things together. I am going for an eclectic look-- country vs modern-- juxtaposing different things with each other. I love my furniture and have had it in my possession for a long time, and belonged to my grandparents.

Hallway waking into main part of Master. I put a throw over the chair to "soften" the red (grabbed from another room so I need to find something a little different). Also got this artwork from Target yesterday-- excuse the temporary hanging-- but I wanted to see what it looked like on the wall on the existing pic hook (I had something else there).


Close up of artwork. I liked the mix of geometric and floral, which is exactly what I was going for in the room. They had another one which was a lighter blue, and the pattern matched my pattern better-- but I felt it would be too matchy matchy.

Dresser with some blue and white stuff. That's my ketubah on the wall, which has blue in it-- I originally had this over the chair


Bed with throw pillows. I plan to get a throw to put at the end of the bed or on the bench to break up the blue. Originally, I planned to use two red pillows and one blue to accent the bench, but I am trying to tone down the red in the room.


I also have this smaller lumbar pillow which I can use instead (stolen from chair)

Nightstands-- issue is they are not that big and it's a tight fit with our king size bed on the wall. Also, they need to be functional-- as I always have a glass of water when I go to bed, baby monitor. Also-- can't have too many breakables as I have a 2 yr old.




I'm sure DH will love his new nightstand decor when he gets home!




Took all blue & white hardcovers I could find from what books I have here.


This wall represents opportunity to do something else-- I originally got the new artwork to go here, but thought it would do a better job of tying in the two ideas above the chair. Yes, my humidfier happens to be blue & white!!

I have a blue and white theme in our bedroom... this is what I have:

Light blue lamps:


I have a royal blue and white toile quilt.

These plates - I switched out the ribbons with navy blue ribbons, white ribbons, and navy blue ribbon with polka dots:



white silhouette shades and navy blue stripe valances on the windows

Our room is this color:



I would like to do a darker accent wall in this color:



For decorative accessories - we don't have much. I hate moving them to dust. We have two blue and white frames, a white orchid plant, and a blue glass sculpture we got on our honeymoon.

You can't go wrong with the chinese blue and white pottery...

as much as i love the red pillow, i dont think it goes with the blue and white geometric print

i do like the wall color- its funky

how about a large mirror with a white frame or a few small white mirrors

what color is your bedding?

white would be most appropriate....maybe a green throw at the end to pop out the walls...i just posted the first one i saw - but find one to match your walls.

the 2 blue pillows i love...and would be perfect on the white bedding. that and the throw would be enough for this style.
maybe some blue lamp shades with a white base....or.... blue base with white lamp shades.


maybe a 2 white vases on the nightstand..with green hydrangeas or something green in them...to bring out the green...

the bench sounds fantastic. would love to see a pic of the room put together. then i can help more

Definitely check Target as others suggested. I think you will find something that goes with the theme.

i love every thing you picked you have beautiful taste

the only 2 things that are throwing me off- are the lamps and the curtains.

they are bringing in another color that doesnt seem to bring the room together.


dont get me wrong, i love them, but they are too tan for that room.

also, the mirror on the dresser- can you get a white one that is bigger

i like the blue vases you have there but if you are going to keep the red maybe replace the tall light bluw one with Red vase.

curtains i think you need moreo f a contrast- maybe red silk or dark blue silk flanked by white

also maybe 2 pillow shams in that wall color instaed of white ones....or a throw

i dont think the room needs anything else..you have enough accessories etc. i just think it needs a little tweaking.

I think you have a little too much going on -
The bright yellow walls would look great w/ blue / white accents (LOVE the pillows and bench) but that red is really throwing me off .........

I'd ditch the red in the extra bed pillow and the chair - maybe bring another shade of blue into the space (are the lamps a ligth blue?) and bring in some more white as opposed to beige .......(the lampshades are beige? or is that just the lighting in the pic? )

there are just some things I can't get rid of-- everything is new and have had for long enough so can't be returned unless I have a valid use in another room. I had one original idea for the room, and the paint color really threw me off-- so I have been back tracking and nothing seems to be working.

I loved the red print, but I hate it in the room with how the paint came out. I am trying to live with it-- but I keep thinking of the phrase "putting lipstick on a pig" when I try to do other things in the room.

The lamp shades are easy enough to switch out to white. The drapes-- well, unless PB will take them back without packaging-- don't think so!! And we spent a lot of money on them.... Initially I was using the tan/oatmeal to tone everything down and neutralize.

ok.

just a thought- those curtains can go in any room, they are gorgeous and neutral.

the issue i see is:

i feel like these items go together:

wall color
red pillows and chair
floral wall hangings
curtains
lamps

and these go tother:

wall color
blue bench
blue bedding
blue accessories

but together- there is a bit of a clash

again its all gorgweous stuff. but some of it aesthetically drags the eye all around the room. there is no real focal point, kwim?


ETA I'm sorry.. Randi. Your original post was looking for blue accessories and I brought it a bit off topic. I apologize. I just love decorating and it is a fun excercize for me but I hope my suggestions did not offend you.

i like the idea of blue drapes-- and was thinking I could put the ones I have in the LR. And I can try white lampshades...

I know-- it's lots of different stuff, but in the room that I used as my inspiration, it had tons of fabrics with all this different stuff and somehow it all went...

i see what you are going for

ill tell you that my eye is searching for more red when i look at your bed with the pillow on it.

like the lamps- get big red lamp bases with white shades

and get diff curtains

replace one of the vases with a tall red vase.

put a red pillow on the windowsill.

i think it will look a lot more pulled together with those touches.

like this base with a PLAIN white shade


ETA you dont have a rug...a rug wulold ground the look...a rug like the one in the picture would be perfect!

Wow.....You sure know how to decorate! Wish I had your eye - you seem to put a lot of thought into it, which really shows.

You should start a blog, maybe?

By the way, what color paint is that yellow? I love it.

Honestly, I love the items you have chosen but it's the wall paint color that isn't bringing it all together.. I think if you got rid of that yellow color and used something more neutral and crisp, it would tie it all in beautifully.

red rug and blue or red curtains panels would complete it

see, i realy like the red against the wall color. i feel like they compliment each other.
