Cleaning lady???
I have never had a cleaning lady before in my life. I am always the one that does the cleaning because I am a bit specificity on how I like my house cleaned. I move everything, clean under everything, and even get on my hands and knees to make sure my floors are spotless I know, I know....a perfectionist....Yes! that is me....LOL!
So, now that I am expecting triplets my DH and of course....my doctor, don't want me to do much around the house....minimum if possible. I am trying a cleaning lady today. She shall be at my house soon! We only have a two bedroom (open floor plan) condo right now. I don't have a lot of knick knacks around. I like my house simple and clean lines.
My questions are: * What do cleaning ladies usually clean? *Do they clean refrigerators? *Do they polish kitchen cabinets? *Do they clean stoves? Ovens? *When they vacuum ...do they move sofas and furniture to get to the back and corners? *Do they clean bedrooms?
I am guessing they do cover the basics... *Dust *Vacuum floors and rugs *Clean bathrooms (including bath tub and toilet) *Clean stains off sofas
Another thing....what should you never ask a cleaning lady to clean? What is the average rate to pay a cleaning lady? since my house is not that messy or dirty.
I am sorry this post is so long. I am a bit naive and nervous when it comes down to this issue and I want to make sure I do the right thing. I really appreciate any help

Re: Cleaning lady???
In my experience they do the basics...vacuum, dust, mop, clean the bathroom and wipe down the stove and kitchen counters some will do the laundry if it is discussed before hand. I would not expect them to clean out the refrigerator, wash windows or polish the kitchen cabinets. I would expect that they move everything before vacuuming and dusting. Good Luck.

Re: Cleaning lady???
My cleaning lady will do anything I ask her to do.
What she usually does is dust, mop, vacuum, clean the kitchen, polish the stainless, wipe down cabinets and wipe out my fridge, clean the bathrooms and fold my laundry. She will change my sheets too but I swapped the laundry folding since I'm fine with doing my sheets. She even changes the shower curtain liner if I ask her to.
She also cleans my front storm door (glass).
So it's all the deal you make.
I have a 4 bedroom 2 bath house and there are 3 rooms she doesn't clean but just vacuum since we don't use those rooms much.
$85 every other week.
I love her but not sure she is picking up new clients. She just had a kid.

Anytime It actually went better than expected. The lady was really nice. She basically asked me how I like my house cleaned and what my expectations were. She cleaned the outside of my fridge (including the top), toaster oven, all counters, coffee machine, dish rack, stove, oven, all windows (I have a condo, so we only have 4). She used pledge on all the wood furniture (including my bed frame, dresser, kitchen cabinets). She scrubbed my bathtub, sink, toilet and corners on the bathroom floor. Vacummed everything, including my sofa (I have a dog) and dinning room chairs. She used the dry swifter after the vacumm and then the wet swifter afterwards. Floors were shinny and slippery ( I have granite floors and wood in the bedrooms). She cleaned all the mirrors in the house and light fixtures. All in all, it took her four hours to finish and my house was pretty clean to begin with. She told me, she could tell I liked my house really clean I am having her come over every 2 weeks.

Re: Cleaning lady???
I adore my cleaning team -- yes they are a group of 4 who come in and clean everything others have listed plus they clean my oven, vacuum my sofas, wipe down the inside of my refrig with a general straightening, change light bulbs and bed sheets. They will do anything I ask within reason and often do something I was expecting. One day I came home to find they straightend and swept my garage floor - LOL! Could not recommend them more highly.
The company is Magic Hands Cleaning and the owner is Maria. Her phone number is 631-561-1280. They cover Nassau and Suffolk.
Between family and friends I think I know 5 people using them for 3+ years each. Everyone - including me - is still really happy with them.
Good luck! And congratulations! Triplets!!!

Re: Cleaning lady???
Congratulations on your triplets!!! A good cleaning lady is abt $25 per hour so the more you ask her to do the longer it will take. I wld discuss what you wanted cleaned up front so your both on the same page.
