Did anyone see the recent HGTV Holmes on Homes?

about the couple who bought a house, that advertised a two car garage, but the garage ductwork was actually venting into the house? According to the couple, an inspector failed to see some major problems, and when they saw mold, calling in a mold inspector, he was the one to find these problems, with Holmes finding more, like asbestos all over the house ( the lady was pregnant) and the electrical wiring was dangerously not installed properly. On first thought, Holmes thought the best thing would be to tear the house down, but they worked through it, including putting a footer/block retaining wall, against a basement wall, that was in danger of collapsing. I want to see the second part of this, to see how the house looks now!!!! Mary

I think I saw that one if its the one I am thinking of he told them there was no way that it could function as a garage so they turned it back into a basement. I believe they also put all new windows and had to change the stair railing because it was like 2 feet tall and they had a child

Seems to me it was on this past Sun.? Perhaps the second part is this coming Sun.? I really want to see how this turns out. Who pays for these renovations, that are on the show? I don't think the couples do, because of a comment I heard. Mary

Re: Did anyone see the recent HGTV Holmes on Homes?

I saw this episode a while ago.

Spoiler alert: It all turns alright in the end.... Chat Icon

The homeowner pays for some of it (if they can), the production company pays for a part of it, vendors and sponsors pay for part of it, and actually, Mike himself pays for part of it if the homeowner can't.

I watched a "behind the scenes" episode a while ago, and they discussed some of this. He really does put his money where his mouth is. He has put a lot of his own money into peoples' houses, and he has a large charity organization that he puts his own money into.

You're not spoiling anything, for me, cause I haven't seen the redo yet. I already knew from the preview that everything turns out ok, but I still want to see the finished house. That poor couple must be breathing a lot easier!! Do you know when part 2 might be on? Aww, that's so nice of Mike!!!! I like him!!!! At the same time, being a builder's Wife, I cannot believe all these houses that have code violations!!!Chat Icon Thanks for the info on how the work is financed!!! Mary

I wasn't actually worried about spoiling it by saying it turns out OK in the end.... they all do when Mike is working on them on the show.... Chat Icon

Not sure when they'll air part 2. Checked out the hgtv website, and it mentioned an airing of the episode in February, but I couldn't find anything in the future. I checked hulu.com and youtube, and they don't have any HoH episodes at all.....

I wonder how anyone saw it already, its a brand new show with brand new episdoes. It wasnt holmes on holmes, it was Holmes Inspection.

It wa INSANE, I felt awful for them. The new episode with part #2 is on the Sunday at 9 (I think). Definitely Sunday, just not 100% on the time. I checked bc I was watching it, I got up to go to the kitchen and came back and it was over....and I was like "WHAT HAPPENS?!?!?!"
