WWYD - Just bought an appliance that was damaged from day one!
I purchased a dryer from Hampton Appliance and had it delivered last Friday. I payed cash. When they hooked it up, it was working but making a banging noise (as if I had a pair of sneakers in the dryer). Delivery man said noise was normal, dryer was just cold  . The noise has not stopped. I called Hampton on Monday and reported the problem. I said if there is a problem I do not want this machine repaired, I was a new one. They said I had to "go through the motions" and have a repairman look at it. Repairman came this past Saturday and said the dryer needs a new drum and new rollers. A BIG repair for a "new" dryer. Off the record the repairman told me to fight w/ the store and have it replaced not repaired.
Now the manager is saying I have to have it repaired and Whirlpool will not replace it...WWYD??? Do I have any recourse?? I am kicking myself for paying cash!!!

That is ridiculous! You had it a week and never worked properly, you should have a working dryer for the money you paid. What paperwork did you get with it? Does it say anything about a warranty?

Fight it with the store. I did it with my frig (PC Richard) and they replaced the frig with another new one...just keep fighting

fight with the store for sure.
also threaten to report to BBB and follow tru if need be.
that's ridiculous. they should take it back and replace it. end of story.

Oh he LL no, I would be down at the store demading a replacement. Skip the call and go down there with someone!

put in a complaint to the better business bureau - you should not have to live with a faulty appliance.

I just called again this morning for an update and I was told by the manager that the owner of Hampton Appliance has taken over the situation and is dealing with Whirlpool. I am very annoyed at the way Hampton is handling this. I feel they should replace my dryer asap and deal w/ Whirlool after.
