Is 4mo too young for CIO? HELP!
Is 4 months old too young for CIO?
My daughter will not go to bed without me rocking her and I'm starting to go crazy. She also has been sleeping VERY poorly for my DH when he's home with her during the day and I'm at work. I swear it's b/c she's used to me.
I dont know what to do, she is yapping away in her crib now but that's b/c I put her in there awake tonite as opposed to rocking her and I dont know what I should do?!?!
HELP!

People here tend to say 6m is the youngest you should do it. Personally, I think trust your gut. As long as she's fed, clean and safe, and you feel she's okay, I think its great to teach self soothing early. To make it easier give her a lovey with your smell on it. Sleep with it one night and that should do it.

I think it's too early, personally. Have you tried a swing? We used to let Lily fall asleep in the swing and then transfer her to the crib once she was really really asleep.

HELP!
We waited until dd was able to roll belly to back and back to belly. This happened at 5 months. We wanted to be sure she could move around on her own.
Honestly I was tired of rocking her for hours at night. Plus I am a SAHM and I really needed some time to myself at night to maintain my sanity.
I think if you are confidant that she is ok on her own in the crib then you should go for it.

I did it at 4 months. We went in very few minutes. It was heartbreaking but worked wonders for us. My ped said to do it. Even now we do it for naps

I think it is too early.
When DD was a newborn I rocked her all the time so when I wanted to break her of the habit, I would put her in the crib, awake, then rub her belly or her head until she fell asleep. I worked my way from that, to just rubbing her belly a little bit, to not needing to at all.

Weissbluth says you can do it at 4 mos - doesn't always work at that age, but you'll know within a couple of days so I would try it. We did it right around the 5-month mark.
