How long does that process take until you hear back to make sure everything is ok with it? And who would let you know, your attorney?

Your attorney will call and tell you the results of the title search. It usually takes about a week or two.

yes the title takes about 7 business days give or take a few (not including the survey or municipality searches ie. C/O search those can take longer). But that doesn't mean your attorney picks it up and reads it right away . I work in the title business and its scarey how many questions I get asked that are right in the title report or how many things are rush rush last minute b/c the attorney didn't read his title when he first got it. So if I were you I would be a PITA about it but I would def. try to make sure your atty is on top of things =)
