Loey's bedroom is right at the top of the stairs so we keep his sliding door closed otherwise it would be just too loud.

closed - for safety reasons and so they dont wake up if we make a loud noise with tv or dropping something, etc

Same here! It's more for light/noise disturbances than anything else.... DS is a terrible sleeper!
