Alarm permit in Nassau County?

I have an alarm for 6 years and never knew you needed a permit. Since when? Am I the only clueless one? I never heard this from the alarm company or Nassau county! We would have gotten it, we get the permit for everything house related.

I got a letter saying they had a 1 time last year they had to come out and I'm charged $100. And bc I don't have a permit, the penalty is $100 so if I don't pay $200 by March 16th, the police will not respond to an alarm from our house.

Additionally, I don't remember them ever coming last year. If we were not home, we wouldv'e gotten a call on our cells and that never happened.

The letter had such an obnoxious tone too.

We got a letter a couple of years ago like this. Our alarm went off from the wind and the alarm company couldnt reach us so they contacted NCPD. I got a letter months later with a fine. I never paid it. I haven't paid for a permit either. Our alarm has gone off one other time and the police responded.
