Curtains = no privacy?
Im not sure what to do...???
I bought curtains for all the downstairs windows... and I love them!
In the front of the house we have 2 rooms; that have 2 large windows and the curtains are giving us NO PRIVACY!
My husband wants me to put blinds underneath them; and I think it will look ridiculous...???
Do I buy 2 more panels for each?? What do people usually do???
Here is one of the windows; the triple was replaced by 2 large windows- but the space is still the same... I CAN close the curtains at night; but when they are open its like WIDE open...
Suggestions?

I guess I've never seend it; so I cant picture it...???
The window does have a valance; which Im not thrilled with.... with blinds would the valance stay or go?
The other windows (single) in the room wouldnt have blinds, since they are fine with just the 2 panels.... would that look silly?

I love this. I got extra panels of sheer for my windows and I really don't like it at all. This reminds me that I want to order some blinds :)

I have sheers under my curtains in the living room. It's a huge picture window with casements on the side.
The sheers give me privacy but don't block the daytime light.
At night I pull down a shade to block the street light.
My master has curtains, valance and dark wood blinds that I keep down but tilted open during the day.
The sheers definitely give me more privacy.

I love this. I got extra panels of sheer for my windows and I really don't like it at all. This reminds me that I want to order some blinds :)
My curatins are big heavy panels though...not thin sheer-ish ones like pictured... do you think that matters?
Also- do the other windows (single) in the room need blinds as well...
They are fine as they are.... (with privacy) but dont want them to look funny...
Like can just the big window have the blinds or does it all have to be uniform!

Almost every single window in our house has blinds on them for differing degrees of privacy. We also have curtains on all the same windows with blinds.
The blinds are for privacy during the day (they can be opened or closed) and then the curtains help add a softness around the window.
In some rooms we draw the curtains at night to help block morning sunlight if we want to sleep. In other rooms we draw the curtains at night during the winter to help keep the heat in and to make the room look more cozy.
It's quite normal to have blinds on a window and curtains, don't worry

There are those blinds that roll up from the bottom too, that are really nice and give nice privacy, but still let in the light from above, because you don't have to pull them up all the way.

In your situation, I'd do blinds and get rid of the valance.
Speaking as a mom, I wouldn't do sheers in a playroom because it'd be hard to keep their hands off them. The blinds can rest on the ledge when they are down and you have more varying degrees of privacy/light filtering.
