Been everywhere looking for cabinets-need help
I am too confused where I will purchase my kitchen cabinets. Been to HD, Consumers and private shops. HD is pushing me towards Kraftmaid but not all plywood. I asked them about American Woodmark upgraded to plywood and they said it would be a lot more money and not as good of a cabinet. Consumers pushing me towards Kraftmaid too but all plywood for about the same price as HD. The other cabinet stores don't really want to deal with me because of my budget. I originally had a $8000 budget but I want to go lower.
My question is where should I look for cabinets and what store?

We used Consumers and had a good experience with them
if they're going to give you all wood cabinets for same price as HD, why would you not use them?

We bought Kraftmaid from HD for out bathroom. I LOVE them! The quality is wonderful! We did upgrade the wood...but I cant tell you what we did now, there were alot of different options.
The other thing was at HD, you can get cheaper delivery costs if you have the cabinets delivered to the store and then have HD deliver to you. Then if HD is delivering them, you can add on to your order anythign else you want like sheet rock, plywood etc. We saved a bit doing this too!

I bought mine from Consumers. Kraftmaid and we love them. they are so solid and the same ones at HD were 2x the price. Consumers is always having some sort of deal. Our price went down 3x while we were in the designing phase.

what is your budget and how many feet of cabinet do you have total in your kitchen?
Dynamic Kitchens is back to offering free installation (my dad Jim is a vendor on here) and often times the pricing is comparable to the all-ply Kraftmaid cabinets.
I wouldn't personally spend money on boxes that weren't all ply.. especially since MDF and particle board swell-up w/ moisture and break-apart.. nothing you'd want by a sink or dishwasher.

I have about 40 feet of cabinets and my budget at the most is $8000.

I used Swan Kitchen and Bath in Westbury - my cabinets were $7000 including roll outs
