inexpensive toilet?

We need a new toilet & the type we need seems to be about $250-300 & that just seems crazy.
Anyone have any suggestions of where to get a decent priced toilet.
Home Depot or Lowes doesn't carry the right kind (my husband knows the details, I don't know the exact kind)
But at GreenArt in Baldwin has the kind we need but they are $300 there.
Any suggestions would help, thanks!

Re: inexpensive toilet?

We got the Kohler Highline - It is a great toilet and I believe Lowes has it on sale right now under $200

Don't laugh, but honestly, you can get fabulous toilets (and a lot of other good buys) at either Habitat's Restore in Ronkonkoma or at Build it Green NYC in Astoria for about $100. Some are brand new others have been used but are in perfect condition - think about it, if you buy a house you are buying used toilets anyway, so this is no different.

All have been donated and the proceeds go to refurbishing housing for people in need.

Build it Green had very high end fixtures from two apartments in NYC the other day which were flying out the door. Some even had tags on them still and had never been used. Including a brand new Viking stove - tags included - which was sold by the time I got there.

Re: inexpensive toilet?

we got ours during a sale at home depot for $80 and its perfectly fine. Glacier Bay comfort height regular flush (no eco friendly double tank double flush) i found them not to properly flush and the plastic double tank wears out very quickly.

we needed to replace our toilet that was leaking EVERYWHERE and had no money. We when officially redo the bathroom i plan on reinstalling it in our second bathroom since its been a really good toilet thus far.

This is what I was going to suggest. I go to ReStore every once in a while for all sorts of stuff. The things they have a good quality, and something like a toilet doesn't go bad (the internals may, but you can replace all of the internals for about $20, and buy a new seat for cheap as well.

I never heard of Habitat's Restore or Build it Green but they sound like my new favorite places Chat Icon
Didn't think of consumers either so we'll check that out too, thanks!
