My den sprung a leak!

Thankfully I'm working from home today and noticed it. Part of the ceiling has water dripping from it! It's a very small section so hopefully it's a quick and inexpensive fix! Chat Icon

Yikes! I'm so afraid of that happening from all the snow, and now rain. I've been going crazy trying to find a roof rake, but every place seems to be sold out. Good luck!

Re: My den sprung a leak!

I also have a leak. There is just so much snow and ice on the roof that it's redirecting the water. I know the previous owner didn't have a leak where it is and we have had so many rains and snows before this and never had a leak. Dh and I tried to get the snow and ice off the section of the roof last night but it's like a 4 inch block of ice up there.

I have a bucket to catch the drip now but it may ruin my sheetrock. This sucks. There is just so much snow and ice that isn't goign anywhere anytime soon.

I also just watched a huge part of a tree fall, from all the weight of the snow/ice. I wasn't so annoyed with the snow but now I have had enough.Chat Icon

Roof rakes won't help the 4 inch blocks of ice attached to the roof and gutters.Chat Icon

Re: My den sprung a leak!

DH just scraped the area where the water was dripping in. There is another spot on that side where the ceiling is soft but it's not wet. Chat Icon Just when he said oh we have this much in savings now. The joys of homeowning! Chat Icon
