La Bonne Vie- Patchogue
Can anyone give me feedback? Years ago they didn't have the best reputation, but I've known some people that have lived in some of them with good experiences. My best friend lived in there for a brief period of time and I remember her apt being huge. Anyone else?

I know years ago it was 'eh' in there. I had a friend that lived there in the 90's.
I don't know how much you're looking to spend on an apartment, but check out Medford Pond in Medford off of Rte 112. We loved it there.

I don't know how much you're looking to spend on an apartment, but check out Medford Pond in Medford off of Rte 112. We loved it there.
I looked at Medford Pond it was over $1700 per month for a 2 bedroom and I'm a single parent, so I don't think I can pull that off each month.

I didn't know what the 2 bedroom was. What about Lake Pointe across from the old Kmart in Middle Island? DH lived there before we were married, his 2 bedroom in 2007 was only $1200.

What about the development on 112 in Coram, past the Friendly's on the left hand side going North. I remember going in there and thinking it was nice.
Also try the apartments in Selden, the next road over (west) from Ocean avenue. There are two sets of apartments across from one another. One of them is very $$$, but the other one, they are nice, but you have to make under a certain amount of money to get in there. DH and I looked when we were getting married, but missed the $ cutoff.

Dh used to live there before we were married(early 2000s) and so did a lot of our friends. I have never heard any outrageous complaints. Its a big complex-The apts were quite nice-the laundry machines could get crowded over the weekends and parking be a hassle for people visiting. They had roaming security cars through the night.
We used to live in Lakeside Village (across the hospital) on the other side of 27. It used to be a little bit more expensive but I felt the apts were layed out better( I long for the kitchen there!) and I loved the setting with a small pond in the middle. Its a much smaller complex with lots of retired folks. It has a gym and an outdoor pool.You might want to look into that. But with your lil one, La Bonne Vie might be better as they have lots of families. Good Luck!

We looked into that development a few years ago and found out there were alot of crimes going on in the complex (police reports, stealing from cars etc.) so we went elsewhere. Don't know if it's gotten any better since...

La Bonne Vie in Coram recently got taken over by another management company and has since changed names...Not sure if Patchogue did as well ...

I lived in Victorian Garden in Holtsville for about 4 yrs and was very happy there... check them out!!!
I had a friend who recently (w/in the last 2-3yrs) moved out of La Bonne Vie in Coram and she did not have positive things to say...not sure if the patchogue location is any different...

I did check out Victorian Gardens b/c my friend lived in there and loved it. But, unfdortunately they wouldn't even accept an application bc I "Dont make enough money as a single parent." The woman wouldnt even give me the time of day and I was very turned off by them.

I think you are referring to Brookwood. My friend lives there(in the new townhouse side). It is nice enough but also $$$ I think her 2 bedroom was about $1600 as well.

They didn't need to know that I am a single parent, but she asked about my income and I said as a single parent I make X amount of money. She said that I am under the amount that they will even consider for application. I have a masters degree, a full time job, and a private practice. How could I not make enough money?

I lived there about 20 years ago (wow, sounds so long!) with my mom who was a single mom. I don't know the rates or anything like that, but our 2 bedroom apartment was a pretty decent size. I remember having lots of space in my bedroom and a nice, big closet! I'm also a social worker, and I have a client who is a single dad and lives there with his daughter, so it's got to be pretty affordable for single parents.
