6,7,8 month olds... feeding and napping schedule? I need some help
DS is 7 months and for the past almost 2 months his schedule has been
7 am bottle 730 solids
9/10 nap
12 bottle 1230 solids
2 nap
4 bottle 430 solids
6ish nap (but Im usually waking him up to feed then right to bed)
730/8 bottle bed
Now I have been going from naps in the swing to naps in his crib so his 1- 2 hour naps are now 30-40 min maybe 1 hour (hoping this will improve, because he NEEDS more than that)
I feel like now since he isnt napping long enough he is crashing after that 12pm bottle (before I can give him solids).
I was thinking of changing it to 11 bottle 1130 solids
1:00 nap
3 bottle 330 solids
5:00 nap
this way he can nap after that but before bed so I dont have to wake him up.
He seems to definetly NEED 3 naps. What do you think?
Can you please share your scheudles for both?
For those that have earlier bed time than 8pm how do you get in 4 bottles? I think DS may be able to just go to bed earlier, but than he would only get 3 bottles, about 21-24 ounces.

Re: 6,7,8 month olds... feeding and napping schedule? I need some help
My ds is 8 months. His schedule seems to be changing too! Right now it looks like this...
7:15-7:30 bottle 8 "breakfast"
930 nap
11-11:30 bottle 12-"lunch"
12:30-1ish nap
3:30-4:00 bottle 5:00 Dinner
7:30 Bottle bed
Naps used to be almost 2 hours but now he's only been sleeping 1-1.5 hrs each nap. He's definitely tired early evening, but he usually doesn't take a 3rd nap.

Re: 6,7,8 month olds... feeding and napping schedule? I need some help
My boys are 7.5 months. Here's their latest schedule.
7am: WAKE UP then fruit (1 jar each) and a few banana pieces to eat by hand or some other finger food like a pancake; then a 6oz bottle
9:30am: nap (I'm lucky if we get 1/2 hour)
10am: 7oz bottle
1pm: 1 YoBaby 3-in-1 meal each; a few grapes or some cheese; then 4-5 oz bottle
1:30pm: nap (usually 30-45 min)
4pm: 7oz bottle
5:45pm: quick nap (like 10-15 min)
7pm: 1 jar each of veggies; try to give them some kind of finger food too, then a 6oz bottle
7:30pm: bed
They have never been big nappers but, thanks to CIO, both sleep for almost 12 hours at night!

if he is falling asleep after the 12pm bottle and you dont get to feed him solids just switch it and give him the solids first then the bottle that is what i do cause my dds always fall asleep with the bottle

thanks! I think this is what I am going to do, starting lunch at 11 instead of 12 and then dinner at 3, this way he ca takea nap before bed.

He has ony done this a few times since Ive been trying his naps in the crib. This may be a good option if I continue to see he is doing this. Thank you!

Re: 6,7,8 month olds... feeding and napping schedule? I need some help
I just posted this yesterday on a similar thread...copying and pasting what i wrote yesterday:
My 6.5 mo old DD's schedule...she is just dropping a bottle now - going from 4 bottles to 3...I love her new schedule. She is early to drop to 3 bottles though but she takes big bottles so ped gave the ok. She said as long as she's getting at least 18-20oz of formula a day that's ok...
7-8am Wake up & 8 oz bottle 9:30am - cereal & fruit 10am - Nap Noon - Lunch (yogurt or fruit/veggie with cereal) 1pm - Nap 3-4pm - 8 oz bottle 5-6pm - Veggie 7-8pm - 8oz bottle & bed
Her morning nap varies. It used to only be 1 hour but lately she's been sleeping later in the morning so going down for a later morning nap. Since doing this, her morning nap has been 3 hours which makes her only take a catnap afternoon nap. I'm wondering if this means she's ready to drop her morning nap and just give me 1 long nap. She just started this so I have to see what happens. I think she's young to be dropping a nap but we will see.
Adding that today she did 2 naps. Her morning nap was 1.5 hr and her afternoon nap was closer to 2 hours. She does not usually take 3 naps ever. If she seems exhausted she'll do an early evening half hour cat nap but that is it. Before dropping to the 3 bottles - that just happened this week after a checkup - she didn't have "Lunch"...we only gave her breakfast and dinner so she had a bottle around noon instead of the lunch. Like i said she takes big bottles - 8oz so I was feeling the same way as you....there was just not enough hours in her day for 4 bottles now that we've added food....if I want to get her to bed at a nice hour. Before we added food at all and it was just bottles she slept from 7-7...now she goes down later closer to 8. My goal is to get her back to the 7pm bedtime. She needs it and so do we. I am working towards this. Loving the only 3 bottles though...if you think your DC can handle just 3 bottles give it a try...like I said my ped said it doesn't matter if we give it in 3, 4 or 5 bottles...it's the amt of oz that matters not in how many bottles we give it.
Sorry so long - HTH. I am a psycho about scheduling...so sorry for all the detail.
