When did you switch out of the infant seat?
DS is still young, 4 months, but he HATES the thing. Arches his back every time we go to put him in it and screams until he falls asleep. It's so easy to use though, especially now that it's cold to take him from seat to snap and go. Should I at least wait until the end of winter to switch?

ITA, and we switched at 6 months as well. My DD hated the infant seat but likes the convertible carseat.

I waited until DS was 9 months old, but that's only because I waited for warmer weather. I didn't have a winter coat so I needed the infant seat with the bundle me until the weather was warm enough for him w/o a coat. If weather wasn't an issue, I probably would've changed at around 6 months.

yesterday...DS#2 will be 10mnths but he's on the smaller side. 27in & 16.5lbs

5 months.
ETA: we did it in Feb while it was freezing out! It was annoying that I had to put him in bunting every time we went out (the bundle me was much easier on the infant seat) but he was much happier when we switched him.

4 months. my DD was a terror in the car...always crying. we switched her out to see if she would be more comfortable. i think it helped a bit.

With my frist DD, I switched in January at 7 months old, it was a nightmare, I was sorry I did it (because of transferring her asleep, not because she didnt' like it). With DD#2, she's almost 6 months and I'm going to try to make it through the winter (if my arms can take it!)

i really thought DS would be out of it by 6 months but at 8 months (almost) we are still holding on...
i LOVE the bundleme, thats the main reason we havent changed over yet but its almost time. DS is 20lbs, 29 inches  and that infant seat is getting HEAVY!

I believe it was around 8 months our seat went to 35 lbs, but he had outgown the height on it. If he hadn't I would have used it as long possible.
By 3-4 months, I never carried him in it, I just left it in the car, and treated it like a convertible.

I agree with the others, do whatever is easiest for you. As long as he is rear facing he is safe.
My DS was only 20 lbs at one year, so we switched him to the convertible shortly after his first birthday.

I switched him out when he surpassed height requirement at 30" (he was 6m)

1 year for both DCs
IMO - dont rush! It is sooo much easier to travel with it bec there is no transfer if they are sleeping in and out of stores! I miss the infant seat!

DD#1 we switched at 9 months...I hope to wait that long with #2 also....they're both June babies, so getting through the winter is sooo much easier in the infant seat for me.
