What should I put on this wall?
It's the tan wall. We got a new DR set and the buffet is against our staircase and the table is running the other way - horizontally.
So this wall has nothing on it. Initially we were going to put the buffet there and hang mirrors above it but we changed our minds and now that wall is bare.
A - I was thinking some type of medallion stencil drawn on and a painting
B - still do mirrors
C - I got nothing.
The problem is there is NOTHING on that wall. Nothing to, I guess, "anchor" a painting or mirrors. What would you do?

I love the idea of that stencil, or wall paper print... then maybe something subtle if you hang anything. You can always use the 3m things to hang something maybe not too heavy. There are items they sell on the TV (and I am sure you can find online) that promise to hang heavy items with out holes in wall, which could work since there is nothing to anchor. I am not sure of their name.
Also you can do a large final lettering on that wall. Not sure how you feel about them.

Oh, I meant anchor as in there is nothing underneath it to make it look pretty or centered, etc. Not that there are no studs or anything - kwim?
I just feel it will look stupid if I put something on a wall where there is no furniture beneath it.

 sorry ! Ok well I think you have something to anchor it with, use the wainscoting that you have on that wall. It's a very pretty room and I think maybe putting stencil or wallpaper above the wainscoting will look amazing. That way you wont have to really worry about too much to put on it. You could still put a mirror. Just center it with that wall space.

I would do sconces and a long mirror. it will define the space to be more formal or "dining roomish" since you don't have a wall there
