Give me an english lesson, please...
do we live "in" long island, or "on" long island?
i keep thinking it's "on" because it's an island, but i live "in" wantagh.

I don't know if this is right, but I think either is acceptable. Here's my perspective:
You live on the physical land of Long Island, but also in the political boundaries of what we call Long Island.
We live on the continent of North America, but in the political boundaries of the US.

on long island. You can always tell when people arent from here, bc they say in Long Island. I live IN the town of Smithtown, but ON the island.
