Bit the bullet and got a new Dyson (also a PSA)
We've had a DC07 for a while (yellow, non-ball) and it's great, no problems whatsoever.
But with 2 dogs now, we've been considering the Animal model with the ball. I did some research on it, and the attachments. The PSA part of this is to go to the Dyson website, browse all the vacuums, choose the one you want and any other random one and choose to compare them.
That's how you get all the nitty gritty details, including which attachments come with the model. That's how I found out that the DC25 comes with the mini turbine tool, combination tool, and stair tread tool. I'm glad I didn't needlessly spend extra money, thinking it didn't come with any other attachments.
Also, buying from Overstock.com saved me $90.00. I'm very excited to receive it! 
By the way, if anyone wants the DC07, FM me an offer. It's in perfect condition.

We are getting the dyson too with some Christmas money! Seems so silly to spend so much on a vacuum but our current one dosn't pick up a thing! Thanks for the tips!

It shipped today, I never thought I would be so excited about a vacuum. But with the frequency that I'm vacuuming now, it makes sense and will be easier for me.

you have to let me know how it works for you.
i have a bissell pet vac and i loved it, but had it for 3 years now.. its time to move on.
i am just so torn to spend the money.
my lab just sheds like crazy , and i think she is allergic to dust of all things.
