Taking a binky later on?/ Thumb sucking Mommies?

Did anyones DC take a binky at 6+ months?

I stopped forcing it at 2-3 months because I tried every single brand and he just wouldn't take it.


Since then his best friend has become his thumb. This was cute in the beginning but now his thumb is EATEN AWAY! It is so so so gross! It's red and flaky and just so nasty looking. I can't imagine it getting worse! I need him to stop thumb sucking so I am hoping to try the binky again.

We did. We used a binky early on but basically stopped around 3 months. At 8 months I had caught him twice with his thumb in his mouth. Since then we gave him the paci. He had it for two months and then took it away cold turkey. He never went back to sucking his thumb.

Zoe didn't like the paci until around 6 months either. She never took to her thumb though, which I am thankful for since I was a thumb sucker growing up. We use Wubbanubs here and she loves them now!
