Silver Fish
DH & I live in an apartment complex - an out of date one for that matter.
I've seen a silver fish in the cabinet under the sink maybe 4-5 times in the last few months. This evening I went to grab an xmas gift from under my bed and inside the box was a pesky lil silver fish - which makes me a lil more nervous now.
Anyone have any tried and true ways to prevent & get rid of them??

They are attracted to Damp places. The apartment that I lived in a few years ago had them. In the middle of the night I would see them crawl up the walls. They were coming from the old shag carpet. I have no idea how to get rid of them though sorry. Maybe a Dehumidifier.

Yes, and they're gross!
We live in a complex too, and we see them from time to time, usually after rain. I am not sure there is anything that can be done about it.

dehumidifiers will work - also, you know those little packets that come with shoes or bags saying "do not eat"... silica gel, to absorb moisture. Keep these and scatter them where you tend to see the bug the most, it definitely helps.

we had them in our apartment under the sink. It turns out we had a leak under there and the wood got wet. We called our maintenance men and they were gone the next day. I am not exactly sure what they did, but we never saw them again.
