Homeowners Insurance
So my husband and I are purchasing a home in Ridge and are finding that a lot of insurance companies do not cover Long Island anymore. Can anyone recommend a company?

We wnt with state farm, BUT we had to switch our cars over. Not to happy about that, nut we needed hoi.

State Farm was the only one we could get 2 years ago (unless we wanted to pay 3 times as much we a compnay I never heard of).
I heard the Geico is now offering in LI!

We're using Allstate-already used them for our cars and were using them for renters as well. No problems at all converting it to homeowners.

My family LOVES this Liberty Mutual agent - apparently he saved them a lot on their homeowners and car insurance - we didn't switch b/c DH likes Geico....
I had to talk to him once to do something with my sister's car insurance and he was super nice.

We have Liberty Mutual BUT our premiums have more than doubled in 6 years with no claims.

Really? Allstate dropped us, with no claims, and we have multiple policies. They said it was because of hurricane/flooding issues even though I am not near the beach.

I used him too! When I switched to LM my premium went down $1900. We had Farmers before. LM won't insure your house if you are within a mile of the water, but in Yaphank you are probably OK.
