Different companies selling same house?

The house next door to us belonged to my landlord...her mother lived there. Her mother was put in a nursing home in 2009 during the summer... so the house was vacant. We cut the grass for our landlord. Oct this year a for sale sign went up from one company. When I talked to my landlord about it she said it was sold, and the sign would be coming down soon. I met two guys (since the only fence seperating the houses is a chain link) and they said the house there was gonna be torn down and a sunken colianal will be built. The house there now is super tiny...1 bedroom...and the mother had tons of cats ... who peed all over the house. After a year of being vacant the smell was unmanageable... and there was tons of mold. No way that same house could be saved...it was just THAT bad. So for the past 3 weeks men were coming in and out of the house... takin pics... measuring things... all the typical pre-construction stuff. One guy even told me that the house will be demolished in 2-3 weeks. YAAy b/c I hate looking at that house...my kitchen window faces it. Now it's been quite a few days since I've seen anyone there...and now there is a different company for sale sign out in the street. Any reason for this? Do you think they bought the house, then decided not to do it, so they are selling again? I mean, it's only been about a month ago that it was sold... so I don't get it. Just wondering if anyone would hve any insight in this situation.. Thanks

if an investor bought it- which it sounds like they did

then they might relist it right away before it's complete - I have seen that many times with investors/flippers
