Yep, its better than buying 2 lesser quality ones over the next 20 years...I bought a cheaper set and I already see the wear and tear on it only 18 mos later...

Honestly YES. I would spend & will probably be spending 10K on a set. WHY you ask. Because honestly some of these other sets arent solid wood. So instead of spending 4g on a set & it being crap & then need to buy another in a few yrs ill spend the more money on the solid stuff now. Ive been looking for a dining room set for awhile now. We have looked EVERYWHERE & cant seem to find anything solid & good & not so ornate in the regular stores. So next stop Ethan Allen PRAY! Otherwise im probably going to have it made.

Would *I*? Nope. Not a shot in he!!. But that's because I can't afford it. But you can afford to throw 6K at furniture so I say you should! If you love it and you have the cash.. do it!

yes.
quite frankly- that's how much good-crafted furniture (not mass produced in China) SHOULD cost but we're all so addicted to Bob's that we don't realize that the cost of furniture is $$$- a once in a lifetime purchase (or that's how it used to be) not something disposable.
Good chairs should cost about $400 each or more...
A table of that size built by a quality furniture maker could be about $2100. and the hutch, well- hard to say w/o knowing the size- so yes, that's a fine price for quality pieces.
BUT make sure it's all solid wood- nothing engineered or MDF- b/c then it isn't a good price at all.

Yes I would and I have! My set was 6k including 6 chairs. It was made by canadel and I am still in love with it so if you can swing it go for it! I got one year no interest so it was easier to handle because I just made a payment ever month with no interest!

I have children, i would never buy anything right now to last for the long haul, it just won't. and a puppy too. nope, never. i got a thomasville table from thomasville clearance for $197.00. still haven't gotten chairs, but, i am happy with it!

Agreed! My parents have pieces from Ethan Allen that are older than me and in much better condition than the cheap crap we have
