How do we feel about FIOS?

I currently have cablevision (all 3 services) & I'm getting a bit fed up. My "triple play" expired in August. They offered me a special rate after a lot of arguing & threatening to cancel. They made it sound like that price they gave me included my DVR box & their equiptment fees. Noooope. Nothing. The rate is still $40+ more a month than the triple play was. I have 1 DVR, 1 regular box & NO movie channels or extras. My parents switched to FIOS & then back to cable because they were offered a good deal. I found out tonight they have more boxes, more DVRs, & some movie channels & they pay about $20 more than I do if even!

So I'm considering giving FIOS a shot because I could truely use a lower bill right now. How do we feel about FIOS? Is switching worth it?

I live in N. Westchester/Putnam and I had Comcast. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Fios!!! I get their triple package, it was cheaper and minimal issues (most being me not knowing what I was doing in the beginning!)

We recently switched from Cablevision to FIOS in September. We are saving over $80 a month and will have this rate (non contract) for 2 years. It is much faster and we have more than we did before on Cablevision. I never had an issue with Cablevision other than the price. Now that we have FiOS I love it and won't go back unless they raise our rates like crazy and then we'll switch to get the triple play again for a year.

Except for some initial billing issues (which I ALSO had with Cablevision anyway!!!), I LOVE FIOS.

Faster internet
Faster menu access
Channels that Cablevision does not have
So much cheaper. We save over $50 a month on a Telephone, internet and TV plan.

So regardless of the scare tactic of using more electricity (that's complete BS), the CV has a faster internet (BS again!) and that Fios has more taxes (WHO CARES I am STILL paying less with all the Fios taxes than with CV), I say Fios all the way.

I also do not lose service like I did with CV.

LOVE IT! if the price goes up though, i'd change. it's all about the dollar. but, the service is amazing and i love everything about what i have!

we made the switch to FIOS before the summer. Internet is so fast now that I don't know how we stayed as long as we did with Cablevision. Stations are lined up better - kids all together, news and sport all together. We were told there wasn't as much storage to tape shows but that's not the case.

We have cablevision and were about to switch, we looked at Fios site last night. And its just not worth it for us. Most of the channels we watch aren't available with the "prime HD" and we'd have to go up a tier, which is obviously more expensive. Plus the cheapest tier (prime hd) is more expensive then what we're paying for cablevision.

I have FIOS in my rental. It's good, channel guide is nice and fast.

But they don't have MSG in HD. So I would never get it for my house as I watch this channel frequently.

The internet is just as fast as Cablevision when browsing regular web pages. I also don't see any picture difference. I think the Cablevision signal at my house is very strong as I never have pixelation or anything like that. I have actually seen pixelation on my FIOS.

FIOS is amazing!! We switched in February after CV for almost 15 years. What a HUGE difference. I could never go back to CV!

I have had both.

Verizon is better and cheaper for what we use it for.

The picture is better, the internet is fast and my bill is way cheaper.

Billing is nuts but they finally got it right.

the techs are super helpful once you get them on the phone.

I LOVE FIOS!!

The picture quality is far superior to cable. I'm not sure how much better it is price wise (DH handles the bills), but I've been really happy with it service wise.

My sister and I have the exact same 55" LED HDTV, purchased around the same time. She has cable and we have FIOS and I can definitely see a difference in the picture quality. Ours blows hers away!

Fios is faster and so much more is given without a price that kills you!

I love the cheapest price. I have zero brand loyalty because BOTH companies have issues (Cablevision often has slow response time on the boxes and sometimes awful/disrespectful customer service. With Fios I've had some screen freezing issues and I had an effing NIGHTMARE with their billing department 2 years ago. SERIOUS nightmare that gave me some reservations about moving back.. but the price is the driver!! I actually recently moved back to Fios because they are only charging me 125 for all 3 services with 4 boxes and Showtime. Cablevision called to win me back and came in at 118.. but could only give me 3 boxes for that price and only one would have been DVR PLUS the price would go up to 131 next year and they wanted to charge us 60 dollars to switch. We'll see what they have to offer when Fios price goes up in 2 years.

LOVE Fios!!! When Cablevision called to give me an insane deal to come back, I told them after having Fios, they'd have to pay ME to come back
