Anyone have mold in their basement?

One side of the basement had mold on the ceiling awhile ago and DH removed the tiles.

The other side has some mold, so he was just going to remove it this weekend.

Maybe because I have bad allergies and a 1yr old, its freaking me out...is there anything else we should be doing? I read something online that says if its more than 10sq ft a professional should do it. DH says its less than 10sq ft....

We were worried about mold in our basement due to a few flooding issues (which we have resolved) so we got a professional to come and take a few samples. It was around $200 I think, took maybe an hour or two and within a few days we got the results. They will tell you if there's mold, what kind and how to treat it. We had minimal mold that they considered very common and it was a small area so they actually recommended that we clean it ourselves.

don't mess with mold, it can really make you sick. Call the professionals and also be sure to get the air tested when they are done to ensure it really is all gone!

we did. We tested it with a mold test kit from home depot.

Then we rented a mold fogger from home depot and bombed the basement for 1 day and 1/2

this was last year. Basement has been perfect since.

we had some in a closet and I had a professional test it and remediate it. It was expensive all in, but worth it for peace of mind since we spend most of our time on the lower level. Now we need to rebuild the closet since the whole thing needed to be gutted, which is another expense.

I have no idea but I always worry about there being mold in my basement, since it can get kinda damp down there and the floor is old & gross.

dumb question but how I can if there's mold if it's not obvious???
