I think you'd have to be an idiot to flush a feminine pad down the toilet. When I go somewhere and have AF, I usually take my purse into the bathroom. And so if I used pads, I would wrap them in the plastic pouch they come in and then wrap in paper and then put it in my purse until I could discreetly dispose of it in the garbage downstairs. Who wants a stinky pad festering all day in a garbage can in the small bathroom. Rather have it in the larger bag with all the other stuff. How is carrying it out any more disgusting than throwing it into the small garbage that someone will then have to empty and thus may see what you threw in there? At least in the bigger garbage you just take the whole bag outside, no seeing what's there. To each his own but no garbage in my bathroom now or ever.
so you think its better to take your "stinky pad" and put it in your purse and walk into the kitchen, where there is FOOD and PEOPLE and sneakily put it in the garbage so now the kitchen can smell like "stinky pad". that is absolutely disgusting

oh goodness....i've been in that situation and i start to panic!!!!! i usually try to hide it in a pocket or something....i will always have a garbage can in my bathroom!!!!!

Yes, I have a small one and I put a small bag in it so I can just pull the bag and toss the garbage. I spray it with Lysol every time I change the bag and I wash it out when I clean the bathroom.
Same. Anything else is so unhygienic.

OMG...yes. what would you do with all the q-tips, tissues, stuff from Aunt Flo, etc.
however, i have noticed that all my family in Europe (Ireland and Italy) NEVER have trashcans in the bathroom. is it a European thing?
I don't think so.  I lived all my life in Ireland and we always had baskets in the bathroom. When I lived in the UK it was the same in homes there.

we have a small can in each bathroom with a bag in it that gets changed weekly. The garbage gets emptied constantly.
I empty it in the larger laundry garbage and then take it out..

We have one in every bathroom.
The one in the upstairs guest bathroom is actually in a cabinet. I get nervous about the kids getting into it.
The one in the downstairs bathroom has a lid on it.
We usually keep them lined with bags and take the bag out every couple of days.
I would think it was pretty nasty to walk around with used feminine products

yes of course! its one of the little simplehuman ones with a lid that lifts up when you step on a small pedal, that way you dont have to see what's in it.

small one in each bathroom but i keep a plastic bag in there (exept when we have guests) so that what you put in the garbage can doesn't touch the garbage. i put it in the larger can only when it is going outside. i don't like bathroom garbage in the kitchen garbage.

Yes! It never occurred to me not to have one. My kids throw their disposable cups in there, I toss cotton balls, q-tips, dental piks, etc... I wipe down the sink a lot with Clorox wipes and I toss them in the can.
I would never make a guest walk out of the bathroom with their garbage to dispose of

How one earth is it LESS disgusting to put your used feminine products in your PURSE than in a garbage in the bathroom?
I'm the farthest thing from a germophobe, but I could never, ever put used sanitary products (wrapped or otherwise) in my purse for any length of time.
I have always had trash cans in my bathrooms -- for us and for our guests. I would never want any guest to feel that they had to carry their trash through my house to a more public area to throw out their trash. All bathrooms in my house have trash cans.

yes, a small decorative one that matches my set for th ebathroom. I hate letting garbage pile up in it though. I dump it everyday into the main garbage so theres only 1 or 2 things in there at most at a time usually.

i think if i saw DW prance through the house holding used girly products i might puke..... ha! no not really but that would still be gross... and if it fell? ewww... and the cats started playing.. ewww OK yeah.. def keeping my garbage can where it is!
