Gift ideas for pre-school teacher

I need some ideas.

DD goes to pre-school 3 days a week, 2.5 hours a day. She loves her teacher, as do all the other kids.

After a quick talk with some other parents, we thought we'd chip in $5 a family and give her a gc. 10 kids so $50 gc. How do you feel about that?

I'm not crazy about it, butI know it's the most practical.

Thoughts or ideas appreciated.

My SIL is a nursery school teacher and has a TON of chachkas from the kids. They are sweet but really impractical.

I like the idea of a GC. What about to a spa? Or AmEx??

We do a gift card--our class mom already collected for the holidays and end of year gift. If we want we can get something on top of it---I may do something cute like cookies or a vera bradley wristlet.

We usually chip in for the class gift, which is always a gift card. Then we also give our own gift as well, generally a Target gift card and a small physical gift. One year we gave Vera Bradley umbrellas I got on sale, last year were Old Navy fleece throws I got for $5 each.

DD is in preschool. I got the assistant a bag of DD coffee, mug, and $10 DD gc. Teacher I am going to get a book from borders for the class library and a $15 or $20 gc to borders.

I think I'm giving a $25 GC to both of his teachers, or I was thinking a vera bradley lunch tote.

I'm giving the cooking teacher, the computer teacher, and the woman in the office each a box of cookies from Cosco... The $10 tin.

I wanted to give her the edible arrangement or flowers. The idea was shot down; but I don't just want to give her a visa gc, KWIM?

She will appreciate the GC more than anything else

my vote is for cash! daycare and preschool teachers don't make a lot, yet they do so much for our little ones!

Whatever you would give in a gift, I say to give as cash! Second choice would be GC


We give cash to daycare (I don't to public school teachers though - I give GC instead)

I think a Visa gift card is best.. last year I think we did $20 a kid!!! but that was for 2 teachers.
I also gave them a tin of homemade cookies from us.

This year we are giving her teachers a fun basket filled w/ treats and a GC to dunkin donuts or starbucks.
