Does this sound like roseola?
DD has had a fever since Monday afternoon (went as high as 104.2 one night). Took her to the doctor both yesterday and the day before - ears/chest are clear and she's got a bit of a runny nose. She tested negative for the flu, and the doctor diagnosed her with a viral type cold that was running its course. Well, today, she woke up FEVER FREE (after almost three days) but by 3 pm, had a fever of 101. Went to give her a bath tonight and she has a slight rash on her stomach/chest and on her back. I'm *thinking* it sounds like roseola (now that she has the rash). When we put her to bed her temp was back to normal. The doctor made no mention of this, but the high fever and rash leads me to believe that's what she had. So, I'm assuming she can't go back to daycare tomorrow (she was fever free all day with the exception of the 101 randomly mid day) and that the worst is probably over since the rash broke out. Does anyone have experience with this?

my friends son has it-- he had a fever, then seemed fine and broke out in the rash.
eta-- he had the rash last night, and kept him home from school today. I would prob be safe and keep your DC home tomorrow. But def call your doc and see what they say!

Re: Does this sound like roseola?
I've been told by the ped that a rash after fever is not uncommon in kids. It doesn't necessarily have to be roseola, but was probably viral......

Re: Does this sound like roseola?
sounds like it could be. alex had it at 8 months. her fever spiked then the next day it went down and the rash came out. doc said it was roseola. it was all over her chest and back and alittle on her face. once they have rash they are no longer contagious.
