Need some decorating help! Pic's now working
so i have NO idea what to do with our livingroom! we have a huge bay window and this ugly bookshelf thing. here is some pics can some suggestes some window treatments and idea's for the bookshelf. we are buying my mil house and she has way to much stuff on the bookshelf and i dont want to over crowd it with stuff. would it look bad if we painted the bookshelf white? im hoping in a year or two to take it out!any ideas please?!

Pics dont show. If its a bookshelf beneath the window you can make a window seat!

I like the idea of painting the bookshelves white.
Now on the bottom, maybe you can add doors and use that for storage for things you dont want to keep out in the open?
For the top, maybe put some family pics up and decorative accessories like candles, plants, etc.

OMG that is a lot of ummmmmm....stuff 
I would definitely paint it white and add doors for storage (did that downstairs to our shelving/built in). It'll make a HUGE difference.
I think once you clear it out, paint it and make it to your taste it'll be awesome :)

I told you she had a lot of stuff! I should post all the pictures of the house with her STUFF that she plans on packing a week before we move in 
I have to get james on board with painting the shelfs white now lol do I need special paint??

Congrats Tara! I def agree with painting the bookshelves white. Maybe some glass doors would look nice on some of the shelves. Once her stuff is out and you add your own stuff it'll look nice.

White for sure, less stuff, and pretty hardware! It could actually turn out nice.
For the windows I like sheers with a pretty valence.
