Nesconsett??

What can you tell me about that town? All good and All bad I would liek to know. Thanks

good SD--i believe it's either smithtown or sachem depending on where. nice and close to the mall and other good shopping/restaurants. i think it's really pretty--got that hilly, wooded north shore feel about it.

i'm not sure what your work commute is like. i have to drive a good bit west. when we looked, we considered it, but every time i saw something we liked i would see how far it was from good highway access and we'd end up walking away from it.

if you take the train, it's not far from ronkonkoma, which is a great station for heading into the city.

That's where we are moving! We absolutely love the town. It's beautiful and located so close to lots of restaurants, shopping etc. As the previous poster said the school districts are Smithtown and Sachem. We wanted Smithtown Schools so found a house in that district.

It is definitely close to Ronkonkoma so the train is right there. For me, I work in bohemia so the commute is great. I can't wait to live there!

Ok thanks...now tell me ...Are their any areas to avoid within Nesconset? We would prefer Smithtown schools...what do you think?

i just moved here in july! my DH grew up in nesconset and loved it. when we were house shopping we found that we could get more house for our money in nesconset compared to other areas in smithtown school district. its SO close to everything, the mall, restaurants, movies, parkways arent too far etc. im really happy with the location.

I grew up in Nesconset. Its great!!
Majority of the district is in Smithtown Schools. I actually disagree with an above poster. Its extremely convient. Its closer to the highways then other parts of Smithtown. Its nestled right between LIE & 347 (majority of it is). It also tends to be less expensive than Village of the Branch Smithtown. I would def. recommend it.

LIE & Northern State are right there.

Also, its MUCH closer to the Central Islip LIRR station than Ronkonkoma.

It's really small, so there aren't any really bad areas.
Great neighborhood, as everyone else said.
My husband grew up in Nesconset, and loved it, so we moved here also.

DH grew up there! He and his family LOVED it. His dad was relocated to NJ so they had to move but they would have stayed forever. They were very happy there.
