area rugs
is anyone else with me on how hard it is to find an area rug you like? i thought maybe we'd just go without, but now that the weather's getting cold, the house doesn't stay that warm with bare floors 
hit me with your best area rugs sources!

I couldn't find anything that I loved, so for the meantime I got my area rug from ikea. It is very plain and simple but also very inexpensive. Still waiting to find a replacement.

For now I have inexpensive ones I got from Kohls.com. I waited until they had a sale plus I had a 15% off coupon so the 8x5 one was about $150. The kids play on them and DS's cars sometimes catch and make pulls, so I didn't want to spend a lot while they were little.

it pains me to say this bc they're $$$ but we have fallen in LOVE with a couple of area rugs from crate and barrel. specifically THIS ONE
I need it for my dining room. Yes, need. Must. Have. Rug.

Kohl's does have some nice ones! This one would look nice in my living room.

i have such commitment issues, especially when something costs 1,000 bucks! 
you think it's dumb to do something this light in a dining room
hmmm?

i think it would be fine... table & chairs would cover most of it, plus it's a busy pattern, so heaven forbid it did get stained, the pattern would probably cover it up. i have rugs of all colors in my house though (including cream/tan) and resolve for carpets has gotten everything out, i've never had a problem. and i have 2 dogs.

For us it would be, but my DS spills a lot and I'd be freaking out all the time about stains.
