how old is your vacuum?
i just spent a half hour cleaning my vacuum and replacing its filters. when i turned it back on again, it still isn't picking up everything. it's leading me to believe we need a new one. ours is 5 year old bissell, how old is yours?

Ours is a 2yr old Dyson. I love it. DH jokes that if I had to choose between him & the dyson I would have a hard time

I have a Kenmore Progressive that is similar to the Electrolux. 5 years old. Still sucks!

2 years, an Electrolux Oxygen.
I replaced a 35 year old Viking canister that was still working fine. Couldn't get the bags or the filters anymore.

Yes, clean the prefilter every 6 months... On the newer models clean them every 3 months both prefilter and HEPA...

4.5 yrs, I just have to change the bag every 2-3 months give or take. I have my eye on the dyson dc26 but can't justify the purchase when there is nothing wrong with my electrolux.
