Baseboard Heating

Does anyone have this in there home?

We moved into a bigger house and they have baseboard heating. THe AC is Central Air.
It works great, but I hear it go on. Anyone have this?

we have it. I have never lived anywhere that had baseboard heating-- well, maybe my apt in college. I personally find it annoying with furniture placement, etc.-- but on the days when I have used it, it heats the house fine and I am kinda getting used to the look of it. I would love to upgrade the heating at some point though-- our boiler is old and will need to be replaced when it dies.

eta-- we have CAC too, and the heat is controlled through an electronic thermostat as well, with the exception of our sunroom (an addition), and the basement, which have their own thermostats.

sorry-- I didn't actually answer your question. I do hear it go on and also hear a little clicking occasionally as well.

We have baseboard heating and separate ductwork for our CAC. It's normal to hear the water gushing through the baseboards when it turns on. You get used to it after a while and won't notice it.

Thanks all! I guess I have to get used to that clicking. Just the lowdest in our bedroom and it turns on in the middle of the night. Only for a moment
It's a much bigger house then our last and DH says it's more expensive to heat the whole house with Central. Oh well... just wondered if it's our house that has it. Plus, the boiler is pretty new so that's good

We have it, and it's an older system, so we have the same noise issues. And yes, it seems to be loudest in our bedroom too!

We just started using the heat at night, and it is waking me up every time it clicks on, but I know after a while I will be used to it again!

I actually like it though because I feel like I can turn it up and it heats the house up pretty quickly, then I can turn it back down and the heat stays for a while.

YES.

It's so bad - just when I'm on the absolute brink of falling asleep I'll hear it click on, then a whole bunch of little clicks and other random noises, then a large *PING* sound. It startles me awake! I hate it. It actually makes me jump b/c I'm right there on the very very edge of falling into peaceful sleep and the damn thing goes on.

I have it and had my entire life. I am very used to it. I kinda love when it comes on, because I know soon we will be warm and toasty. Guess I am weird lol.

Our burner is actually on the first floor of our home because we do not have a basement. That comes on pretty loud, but then again, I guess I am used to that too. I listen for it when I put heat on or hot water to make sure everything is running right.

We had it in our old house and it was very noisy when it would come on.

In this house we have baseboards in living room only but the rest of the house has radiators, we haven't heard any noise from the pipes so far...

We have baseboard heating & CAC. It is on the same thermostat. I hate forced hot air, I had one apt once when I was single that had it and I got nose bleeds all the time. Anyway, our system is newer and there is "some" clicking. However, it should be minimal. I have NEVER been woken up by it, or even really notice it. If it is very loud, you may have air in the system. This happens sometimes(dont know why) We have a valve on our system that can bleed the air out and it makes it quiet again.
