What do you keep your recyclables in?

I usually keep them in Trader Joe bags in the kitchen, till I get a chance to put them out in the cans. It's such an eyesore! I have been meaning to get something like this but I don't know if I want to spend $100 on a trash can right now!
I'm looking for something that has 2 compartments so I can keep paper and plastic separate.

I have two pails on the outside of my kitchen door - one for paper and the other for plastic/glass. Everything goes right outside immediately, I don't keep anything in the house.

we have something exactly like what you showed in that picture, it's made by simplehuman, and it's still in the box from my bridal shower. i am SO excited to use it when we move in a couple of weeks. right now, we re-use plastic grocery store bags for non-refund stuff. for water bottles and seltzer cans, we use ginormous garbage bags. it's a bit unwieldy.

we put recylclables right in the recycle pail... we actually bring back bottles, etc so they go in the garage. We started doing that when me got our house cause we would put all the change in a big jug and were shocked how it added up, with all the entertaining we do we might as well!

big plastic garbage can in the garage. Usually just put in on the counter for a bit (unless it's dog food or tuna... something stinky), but water bottles or wine bottles can stay on the counter for a bit and at night it goes right in the garage

prior to redoing kithen - we put cans/bottles on counter then took to garage every few days

after redoing kithen - we have a double pull out garabage - one for garbage and one for recycleables

can you just put a second garbage can under the sink

I have a clear small trash can with a blue lid. This way DH doesn't get "confused" as to where the recycling goes. I have it right next to the regular one.

Small kitchen, no garage. So we got a white container with a lid that goes on the bottom shelf of our baker's rack, for metal and plastic.

For paper, we have a bench by our front door that has three baskets in it. One is for paper recyclables.

we usually put them on one end of the kitchen counter and as soon as there's 2 or more pieces, we'll bring them outside to the blue recycling pails that are on the side of the house.
we tried putting something next to the garbage can, but since we have to separate glass and cans from plastic, we'd have to have 2 additional buckets, and i just didn't want 3 garbage cans all lined up in the kitchen.

So this way, we're forced to take the items out almost daily. we go out our kitchen door to the cars in the driveway often, so its not a big deal to grab a bottle or two on the way out
