We have always done the painting ourselves. I actually loove painting!! I repainted our bathroom 2x since we moved in a year and a half ago alraedy LOL. Now I'm taking on the living room soon and allt he ceilings.
I had never known the price of pro painters till this site... my DH knew... but I was just amazed at the price of them! making me consider going into that field LOL. Speically since I love doing it so much.

We paint when we can, for instance we painted DD's room when I was pregnant, but to pain an entire home is not on our roster...we don't have the time, patience or expertise to do it

I can paint.
DH would end up wearing the paint.
So, we hire.
I can't do such a large job (because when we have painted, it is always many rooms at once) by myself... and I sure as hellll can't trust DH to not drop a gallon on my floors!

we painted ourselves but i think next time we hire pro's. Honestly its a mess, my husband rushed and got globs everywhere i keep finding more icky spots, just a nightmare.
I plan on painting my kitchen this weekend so perhaps if i feel we can do a better job i will feel more confident to do it again.

we are painting ourselves (soon actually). I just never saw the point in paying someone to do something that we could easily do ourselves. Plus I like to paint!

We paint ourselves but I am considering hiring professional to paint the kitchen cabinets since they are such a hassle...

Our entire house needed to be painted when we bought it. We did it ourselves. It took some time but saved a bundle of money. I actually like painting.

We paint when we need to. I don't see the need to hire a painter when it's something we can do ourselves. I'd rather save the money.
Painting is super easy. We both paint... I even paint. I enjoy it.
If I could do ALL the home improvements, I would!

love that my dad loves to paint and is retired..he does it for us (and will usually pay for it alll -although i will try to give him $ or something to make up for it)

But I'm nuts and I love to paint and need instant gratification
