10% with a piggy back loan for the other 10%. We refi'd a few years later to make it one loan at a low rate.
This was half of our savings. glad we did it that way since we bought an old house that needed repairs.

We put down 20%. It was the most we could get together at the time (7.5 years ago). We didn't want to pay PMI, we wanted a good interest rate from a reliable mortage company.

Pros: no PMI (my biggest priority), lower mortgage balance, easy to get mortgage,
cons: hard saved money gone!, not much money for renovation so we have to do things slowly
ita with this - especially if you get a house that doesnt need much work - if you have the money put it down
we put down 20% but we have a co-op and had no choice
