My Stair Reno is Complete!
well almost!  the guy has to come back and finish 1 spindle at the top...
it took 3 days with professionals and i am SO GLAD we didn't try to DIY. it was a lot of intricate trim work and i don't think we could have done it ourselves...
i want to find 3 really nice black coathooks to hang over my bench and maybe a small pillow - but other than the foyer is just about done unless anyone has any good suggestions...

LMAO! I told DH that if we tried to do this ourselves we'd have no railing for at least a year. After seeing all the work that goes into it I am glad we didn't attempt it. All these guys were talking were fractions and angles - listening to them work made my head spin! I give your DH a lot of respect for going for it -after watching the guys work I realize that stairs are not easy.

The company that installed the railing should think about opening a branch out here...pronto!
LOL...
It's truly amazing. I'm so far away from thinking about railings that I'm not even going to ask how much because it looks like you spent mucho dinero.

Your stairs are so beautiful!!!!!!! Its funny b/c I thought your original stairs rails were great. It never would of even crossed my mind to redo them!!!
Your doggie.....so freaking adorable! I want to squeeze him/her (?), love all the wrinkles.
Also on a funny note....I am freaked out by heights so just looking at your pictures from your 2nd floor w/no rails made my stomach turn....
