Anyone have experience with LIJ or Winthrop?
Hi ladies.. spinoff from the TTC board. Im not pg, but plan to be and may change Drs soon.
My current Dr is affiliated w LIJ (in lake success)
The one I may switch to is Winthrop.
Any feedback??

My doctor is affiliated with LIJ, other than that I have no clue how the hospital is.
Maybe you should try the parenting board too!

I will be delivering at Winthrop.
All the women in my family have delivered there and have always had a positive experience. Now that all the rooms have been made private, that's just one more reason to want to deliver there!

i will be delivering at Winthrop and my sister in law gave birth 10 days ago at Winthrop...great hospital and phenomenal staff!

I'm delivering at Winthrop will be first in my family!!! i didn't know all rooms are private!!!!!! wow that's awesome. Going there bc of my new doctor!

Winthrop is great, just took the tour and now all rooms are going to be private, which is great...no extra charge....I use Long Island Womans Health Care on Franklin Ave in Garden City...they have a few locations and they are down the block from the hospital....I am very ahppy with them!!!

I am planning to deliver at Winthrop. I have no personal experience as my first was delivered at Huntington. But I have pretty much only heard positive things.

I delivered at Winthrop my first time and the staff/doctors were amazing. I changed doctors this time around and went with someone affiliated with Winthrop since I did not want to deliver anywhere else.

I delivered at LIJ on 10/14 when I was only 33 weeks pg. the staff there - from the dr's to the nurses, to even the orderlies were great ! I was still in a 4 person room, but as soon as the new building is complete all rooms there are going to be private as well.

i gave birth @ lij in september and i had a FANTASTIC experience. everyone was wonderful. i even sent my l&d nurse a gift after we got home ~ that is how great i thought she was.
i ended up in a 4 person room but had great roommates and really didnt feel cramped. we talked more like girlfriends that knew each other for years rather than 4 strangers but i guess when you've all pushed a life out within hours of each other its kind of bonding!
also ~ i had so many visitors allowed up to see me. i really appreciated that they weren't strict with how many they let in the room.
would def give birth there again.
