Plantation Shutters

Does anyone know the difference between Hunter Douglas and Comfortex? I know that Hunter Douglas owns both, but is there any difference other than the price? Durability? Warranty?

If anyone has any other information about plantation shutters that would be great. Any specific questions I should ask? Any reasons maybe I shouldn't get the shutters? Pros and cons to having shutters? I have had several companies come to give me estimates and now it is just a matter of choosing which brand we want to go with.

I believe if you get this done before the year ends with Hunter Douglas, it's tax deductible so you may get some money back. Hopefully this helps you. Hunter Douglas are a little more pricey but so worth it and they look absolutely wonderful too.

we have them in every room and love them! expensive but worth it 100%! the wider the slats, the better (ours are 3.5 inches) and we got the more modern looking shutters, without the vertical pieces to "open and close" the shutters. instead, you actual move the slats up and down.

if you have an specific questions, ill try to answer.

ours are a composite. we werent spending the HUGE $$ on real wood. no reason to if you are going white.

We are definitely doing white, so we are leaning towards the composite. We are just confused about brands. Everything that we read and hear is that Hunter Douglas is the best, but of coarse the most expensive. I guess we are just looking for reassurance about Hunter Douglas and if there are any other brands that we should consider.
