We have some white wood ones that were on the house when we bought it
in summertime we have geraniums and other flowers. In the past i have planted mums in the fall, but i didn't this year since the geraniums still look really nice
In the winter they're usually empty, but for xmas decorating i got some really pretty evergreen fillers with lights and pine cones on them that fill the boxes.

we put them up this spring. I still have geraniums in them. Not sure what I'll do over the winter.
